For creators Barb and Greg, the story of their app Carefactor began with the Alzheimer’s diagnosis of a loved one and a breast cancer diagnosis even closer to home.
After Greg’s Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, life took a dramatic turn for the couple. Suddenly they had to support her as well as their family, juggling her health, finances and home. Two years onwards and Barb’s sudden breast cancer diagnosis saw a new direction emerge in the couple’s journey as carers.
Managing medication, medical appointments, information and treatments proved tough for Barb and her family. Despite the abundance of information and responsibilities they had to handle, there were few tools purpose built for breast cancer care. In the midst of these difficult moments the idea for Carefactor was born.
That idea was for an app for those diagnosed or caring for loved ones with breast cancer. A brand that acknowledges the breast cancer stories like Barb and Greg’s, that play out in thousands of hospitals, homes and hearts across the country.
Through their app, Barb and Greg believe that making breast cancer care information accessible, simple and shareable can be beneficial and empowering for both patients and their carers.
